Ajapa
The concept of Ajapa Japa appears to be imbibed both in Indian and Zen traditions. In India you either repeat SOham or HAM sah depending on whther you subscribe to the Vedantic or tantric school. This gels with the idea that every living being is essentially spiritual and hence is doing some sort of sadhana ,albeit unconsciously. Hence every being has the potetial to move up the evolutionary ladder to realise the full potential

Awareness !
Try this to see if moment to moment awareness is easy !
Sit comfortably ( yada yada ) , now as you exhale count " ten " . Next exhalation count "Nine" so on .
The trick is not to loose count till you reach to zero !
Gives one an idea of how difficult it is to hold one's awareness for say even a couple of minutes

Yajnadrishti
Yajnadrishti is the attitudinal change which we have to incorporate in ourselves to make our lives more meaningful and more balanced. Essentially , yajnadrishti is an attitude of worhsip towards everything that we do. Like the buddhist mediation instruction exhorting us to be aware of our every moment , Yajnadrishti expects us to view all our activities like a Yajna

Mouna
Sage Vyaasadeva makes an interesting observation in his commntary on the Patanjali's Yoga Sutra's
According to Vyaasa , Mouna or silence is of two types,
The first Aakara Mouna is one when the person observing it merely refrains from speech , but may indicate his mind by gestures etc.
The other is Kaashta Mouna which is observed when the person does not indicate his mind even by gestures or any other means. hence the name Kaashta i.e. a piece of bark or wood

Konkani
Konkani's relation ship with Bengali is intriguing. Have you ever noticed that Bengali "sounds" a lot like konkani ? And that main votaries of the language , the Goud Sarawats claim to have migrated from Bengal ?
