Mouna

Sage Vyaasadeva makes an interesting observation in his commntary on the Patanjali's Yoga Sutra's
According to Vyaasa , Mouna or silence is of two types,
The first Aakara Mouna is one when the person observing it merely refrains from speech , but may indicate his mind by gestures etc.
The other is Kaashta Mouna which is observed when the person does not indicate his mind even by gestures or any other means. hence the name Kaashta i.e. a piece of bark or wood
